Virginia O'Mahony

Virginia O'Mahony is a third generation teacher in her family and grew up in the rural community of Ballinross, Co. Roscommon. She completed her teacher training in Carysfort Training College, Blackrock, Co. Dublin from where she graduated with distinction.
Her first teaching position was at St Vincent's GNS, North William St. N.S. in Dublin's north inner city, during which time she completed her BA degree at UCD. In 1975 she was appointed to the staff of Scoil Chaitríona (Senior), Renmore in Galway. She was appointed principal in 1993. School projects have included E.U. Comenius programmes and the facilitation of educators from Europe and USA during the school term and an annual input to the North American Summer School held at NUIG.
Virginia is a founding member of IPPN and has been very active on the IPPN Executive since its inception. She is presently the Assistant Director of IPPN.
