Points to note:

• The revised procedures apply to all schools and will come into effect from the start of the 2025/2026 school year
• The BOM must develop its Bí Cineálta policy during the course of the 2024/2025 school year and adopt it prior to the of the 2025/2026 school year.
• Key areas of change from the 2013 Anti-bullying Procedures are outlined in Appendix G of the Bí Cineálta Procedures.
• Templates are provided for
  • the school’s Bí Cineálta policy (Appendix A)
  • a student-friendly version of the policy (Appendix B)
• Support for the rollout and implementation of the procedures will include
  • in-person professional learning events for two nominated staff members
  • information seminars for Boards of Management and parents
  • half-day school closures to facilitate staff engagement with the procedures
