E-scéal 217 - Has Your School Been Affected By Flooding?
- Published: 25 November 2009
Since last Thursday, thousands of families have seen their homes and possessions damaged and, in some cases destroyed by flood water. Several schools had to close due to having no water for sanitation or a lack of safe drinking water. However at this point, it is unclear how many schools were directly affected by flooding.
Principals supporting one another is at the very heart of what IPPN is all about. If there are schools directly affected by the flooding, we would like to hear from or about them. We have received a number of ‘offers of help’ from a few extremely generous and thoughtful Principals. One Dublin based Principal has offered to ‘twin’ with a school in difficulty to provide whatever support they might need over the coming months. It is wonderful to see such solidarity within out network in a time of crisis.
Please contact the IPPN Support Office (1890 21 22 23) if you are aware of any school that has been affected by the recent flooding.
