IRIS Project
Every school year seems to bring more requests to participate in research, surveys etc.  Not too long ago education policy was drawn up with little reference to education practitioners.  Gradually there has been an increase in the value that policy developers place on the experience of school leaders and, the benefit it brings to successful change and improvement to the education system.  IRIS is a research project examining Principals’ experience of the inclusion and mainstreaming of children with special education needs.  This is important research as it is commissioned by the NCSE and is likely to be a major influence on policy in this area for the foreseeable future.
