Mentor Training
IPPN in conjunction with LDS are providing a two-day training programme for mentors of Newly Appointed Principals. 5 places are still available at each of the venues. To register, please e-mail your preferred venue to support3@ippn.ie

This training opportunity is open to Principals who:

• Are currently in a mentoring partnership
• Are available to act as mentors but not yet assigned
• Have acted as mentors in 2010 or 2009
• Are interested in becoming mentors in the future

Substitute Cover:
The DES will only provide one day substitute cover for Teaching Principals. Consequently the second day may be covered as a Principals release day.

Venue & Dates:
1. Athlone Education Centre - Monday 9th & Tuesday 10th May
2. Portlaoise Education Centre - Tuesday 17th & Wednesday 18th May
3. Navan Education Centre - Thursday 26th & Friday 27th May

EAL Applications & Developing Posts
The total number of teacher posts are constrained by the National Recovery Plan and EU/IMF Agreement. The DES via OLCS have expressed urgency in the return of applications for EAL posts (Circular 15/09) and developing posts. The final date for receipt of applications is Friday 6thy May 2011.
