Planning Prompts
After what has been a very busy start to the new school year, next week will hopefully bring you some well-deserved rest and relaxation. Even though some planning prompts have been included today, there is nothing that cannot wait until after the mid-term break. The most important thing you can do today is to plan how you will spend time next week, doing the things you enjoy with family and friends as well as looking after your health and wellbeing. Ó gach duine anseo san oifig, tá súil againn go mbeidh saoire taitneamach agaibh an tseachtain seo chugainn. Read more
Comprehensive Review of the SNA Scheme
The Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton, T.D. has requested the NCSE to lead a comprehensive review of the SNA scheme, in consultation with other relevant Departments and state agencies including the National Disability Authority (NDA).
IPPN, along with the other education partners, attended a review meeting on the 20th October in Marlborough Street. Listed below are the questions that formed the basis of the discussion. IPPN will be further feeding into this process, which will result in a report being prepared for the Minister.
At one stage we had thirty two SNAs in my own school so I am fairly well-versed in the difficulties regarding applications, reviews, hours of employment, etc. However, I would value any input you may have or issues that we should include in follow-up meetings or submissions. Please email any feedback you think should be included to me directly to pat.goff@ippn.ie. Read more - Pat Goff
