Class Allocation
For many Principals the annual challenge of deciding which teachers will teach which classes can prove problematic. Each year there are many enquiries to the Support Office seeking advice and guidance in this critical aspect of a Principal’s role. Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership

In partnership with IPPN, NAPD and the DES, the CSL Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership was officially launched in University of Limerick (UL) on May 5th. The programme will be jointly awarded by UL, the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG including St Angela’s) and University College Dublin.

Additional academic support for the programme will be provided by Waterford Institute of Technology with delivery support from Cork Institute of Technology and Association of Teachers’ Education Centres in Ireland. The programme is a part-time over 18 months, blended learning professional diploma, delivered in six regional locations throughout the country with provision in Irish in NUIG.
The course will include a short period of work placement in a school other than the participant’s own and in a setting outside of education. Fees support for this programme will be provided by the DES and the cost to participants will be €2,000.

The course will be open to approximately 200 participants annually. The application process is now open. Applications can be made using the following link http://www.ul.ie/cpe/pdsl/ and the closing date is June 2nd.


CSL Coaching Service

There are limited places available in the CSL coaching service. Log onto the coaching section of the website at www.cslireland.ie and click on your area to choose a coach. This service is completely free of charge to principals and a professional support not to be missed.

consultation process.

Main Redeployment Panel
Schools with vacancies have until this Friday, 19 May 2017
to fill vacancies from the Main Redeployment Panels.
Thereafter, Panel Officers will be appointed to
facilitate the redeployment of surplus permanent/CID
holding teachers.

CEC Lifts directive on Driochead
The CEC has decided to lift, with immediate effect,
the INTO directive which prohibited co-operation with
Droichead, the route to full registration
with the Teaching Council for newly-qualified teachers.
