Every week of the school year brings its own tasks and demands on your time and energy, but none more so than the month of September. This month sets the pattern of your daily schedule for the rest of the year. Very often, having brought in a lunch with you, it remains uneaten.
Formation of Boards of Management
Since launching the Sustainable Leadership report last November, IPPN has engaged extensively with the DE and other education stakeholders to highlight the need for a review of the current governance structure and to explore the possibility of reform.
Next week's IPPN Autumn meetings will take place at 4pm in the following venues:
- Sept 19 - Clare & Kilkenny
- Sept 20 - Carlow
- Sept 21 - Meath

New! Pathways to Sustainable Leadership
The Leadership Pathways format has been reimagined. At the Principals’ Conference 2023 Pathways to Sustainable Leadership session, attendees will participate in and contribute to a ‘think tank’ to capture the practical ways in which school leaders are managing to maintain a focus on their core purpose and share leadership effectively. The wisdom of the collective will inform our practice as individuals, which has the potential to be hugely impactful.

The role of IPPN members on every county CYPSC (Children’s and Young People's Services Committee) is to advocate for initiatives and projects that benefit the children who attend our schools. One of these initiatives has been the development and publication by Wexford CYPSC of the EBSA Resource Pack for children and young people who experience emotionally based school avoidance.
The PLAN'EAT project aims to transform food systems and environments towards healthy and sustainable behaviour. UCD researchers are conducting a study on healthy and sustainable diet initiatives and the needs for improvement within educational settings.
