13th June - IPPN Budget Submission / Important reminders

Planning Prompts

At this particular time of year, we highlight the 10 Self-Care Commandments, while aware that not every school leader will be enabled to put all these elements in place. In considering these Commandments, you may be able to build in time for recovery after what has been an exceptional year, despite the many tasks and activities still facing you over the next few weeks. Remember, support from the Leadership Support Team will continue to be only a phone call away.

Mar fhocal scoir, tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú tairbhe agus taitneamh as laethanta saoire an tsamhraidh. Beatha agus sláinte chugat.

EducationPosts.ie Recruitment Portal

The online recruitment portal, which launched last June and is designed to reduce the administrative burden associated with the process of recruitment, is going from strength to strength. To date, 219 schools have advertised vacancies using the portal, and 342 posts have been advertised through the portal.

Feedback from school leaders and chairpersons using the portal has been excellent, in particular with regard to the ease of use and the significant reduction of workload. IPPN encourages all schools to consider using the portal for upcoming teacher recruitment. The additional functionality of the portal comes at no extra cost to the school.

DE Caretakers Survey

IPPN has raised the concerns of members regarding the timing of the survey on school caretakers being issued late in the final school term and the complexity of the survey, as well as issues around the sensitivity of information sought and the potential negative impact on ancillary grant funding to schools.

We will keep members informed via E-scéal of any clarification in this regard.
