Decision re admin days for Teaching Principals

Does the BoM have a list of days which you intend to take for admin purposes and have you discussed how your class will be covered over the course of these admin days?

New staff appointment details

Have all new teaching staff submitted appropriate professional details and signed appropriate contracts? Have they been given copies of their contracts? Ensure that all new employees are very clear in relation to the purpose and duration of their employment. Have substitute teachers/ substitute SNA’s given secretary their details for inclusion on OLCS?

Have all ancillary staff signed contracts? Copies of relevant contracts are available on IPPN & CPSMA websites. Ensure these contracts are recorded in the minutes of BoM meeting and signed by Chairperson.

Pupil Personal Accident Insurance

Can your PA make sure that all parents are aware of the benefit of this policy? Send a reminder that forms must be completed/returned with appropriate fee before the end of September. Where are accident report forms stored in school? Do all teachers have copies of forms available for use as appropriate?

Some schools include this insurance with their book lists and all pupils are automatically then covered in the school. If not already the case it may be something to consider in consultation with your BoM and PA.
