E-sceal 550 - Board of Management Agreed Report

Following a number of queries on the networking mailing list regarding a template for an agreed report, the following may be helpful.

After a Board meeting, decisions made will need to be communicated to both staff and parents. Best practice would indicate that what is included in the report be agreed at the end of each Board meeting. This will be individual to each Board and is not prescriptive. Generally, both reports would be similar, but at times certain information may only need to be communicated to staff, particularly in the area of terms and conditions of employment. Each report would outline briefly the decisions made, where communication is considered necessary. It would not include how an issue was decided. The means of communicating the report should be agreed by the Board.

Two questions may be helpful in this regard – (I) To whom does this need to be communicated and (II) How will it be done?
