Gavin Murphy, a research fellow at the School of Education in University College Dublin, is undertaking research on school leadership preparation and development in Ireland and Australia. He also contributes to the UCD Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership programme.
The research involves a once-off interview with participating school leaders (principals and deputy principals) to discuss their career history and how they prepared, formally and informally, for senior leadership. Gavin is particularly keen to speak to principals and deputy principals appointed (including those to a new leadership role, such as in a new school) within the last 3 years.
