At this stage, most panels have cleared and schools have received approval from their Patron bodies to fill any remaining teaching vacancies for the 2023/2024 school year using normal recruitment procedures. A good reference for Boards to guide them through the teacher recruitment and appointment process is IPPN’s interactive resource bundle on Developing School Capacity – Recruiting & Appointing Teachers. Section 4.7.6 provides clear guidance on determining the successful candidate and next steps to completing the appointment process. It is important to note that there are two separate appointment forms for the 2023/2024 school year for the appointment and re-appointment of teachers
