Government may consider removing extra teacher payments

It is thought the government may be considering getting rid of many bonus payments for teachers.

It has emerged up to €30 million a year is being paid out for teachers to supervise the State examinations and mark the papers.

A number of TDs are arguing that these duties should be apart of the annual teacher salary.
