NIPT - Recruitment of Primary Associates 2016/17

The National Induction Programme for Teachers (NIPT), a cross-sectoral support service for newly qualified teachers (NQTs) under the remit of the Teacher Education Section of the Department of Education and Skills, has a number of opportunities for the position of associate 2016/17.
An associate is a registered teacher, who is engaged to work in a part-time capacity (20 days) with NIPT to complement and extend the capacity of the service. Typically an associate will
- undertake training and skills development, as required
- participate in the design, planning, facilitation, monitoring and evaluation of NIPT training programmes
- collaborate with NIPT in the provision of the School Support Service for NQTs and Droichead Schools
- liaise with local education centres in the provision of support for NQTs
- assist in the identification, preparation and editing of resource material
- undertake administrative tasks and provide data/reports, as required by NIPT.
The position of associate is open to all suitably qualified and serving primary teachers who are fully registered with the Teaching Council and have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience. Candidates with the following experience are particularly welcome: Special School / SEN in a mainstream setting / Multi-Grade / ability to work through the medium of Irish.
All candidates must attend a national recruitment event on Saturday 11th June 2016 in The Tullamore Court Hotel and subsequently submit an electronic copy of application. The application form will be available on the website below from June 13th and must be submitted electronically by 5 p.m. on June 17th 2016.
Following the application process, a panel will be created for 2016/2017. Associate positions will be offered to panel-members based on the needs of the organisation at national and regional levels. Please note a place on the panel does not guarantee work as an associate.
