IPPN Survey on School Admissions

As you are aware, the Minister has set out his proposals in relation to ‘the role of denomination religion in the school admissions process’ and is seeking input from stakeholder groups, including IPPN. IPPN recognises that issues around patronage and its impact on enrolment in schools are probably low on the list of priorities for principals when considered against funding, staffing and all the other issues in primary education at the moment.

We would ask that you take a few minutes to read the information about the options provided by the DES and select your ‘preferred’ option. Note that there is no ‘status quo’ option – feedback is required in relation to the options put forward. PLease respond by 10am on Monday 20th March. Click here to access the survey.

NCCA - Restructured Primary Curriculum

The NCCA has published proposals related to structure and time allocation in a redeveloped primary curriculum. This is the first time in almost twenty years that those working in primary education have had an opportunity to consider the structure of the curriculum, what it should comprise and how time should be allocated within it.
