Sub Seeker - Substitute Teacher no longer required – EducationPosts.ie

Schools have the option to delete an advertised substitute position, if a substitute teacher has accepted an offer on Sub Seeker. The position can be deleted by selecting ‘Delete’ and following the steps.

If the vacancy was filled, all teachers who accepted the position will be notified. If the vacancy was not entirely filled, all teachers who were offered the position and did not decline will be notified by email.

It is essential that the offer is cancelled through the Sub Seeker system to allow the teacher find work.

Membership 2021/2022

A small number of membership forms are currently being processed in the support office.  The deadline for returning forms is Thursday, 30 September.  Please note that from Friday, 15 October, a number of key supports and services will no longer be available to non-renewed member schools.  Some of these supports include Leadership Support Service – confidential telephone service, networking@ippn.ie and other mailing lists, Leadership+ magazine, E-scéal – (weekly email newsletter).  If the renewal form has been mislaid or you wish to pay online, please click here

Budget 2022 Key Priorities – Contact your TD

IPPN put forward 3 key priorities in its Budget 2022 submission:

  1. Funding of supports to make primary school leadership more sustainable
  2. Retention of pandemic supports for schools
  3. Adequate resourcing of supports for vulnerable children.

IPPN has already met with some of the key stakeholders to outline these priorities and reiterated that the first priority is sustainable leadership.

Leadership+ article, Issue 119: Non-DEIS Disadvantage

No one could have predicted the huge global challenges that have faced us since I last wrote for Leadership+ - in November 2019, also on the topic of the non-DEIS disadvantaged school.

My expectation at that time - that additional schools would be added to the DEIS programme - was unfortunately sidelined, as the greater educational issue of reopening schools safely in the midst of a pandemic took over and dominated the daily workings of the DE.
