Budget 2009 will have serious implications for Primary Schools and consequently make the role of Principal even more challenging. IPPN is deeply concerned that the overall cut backs in grant aid, as well as reduced staffing levels will have severe implications on the quality of education provided to children.

E-Scéal 170: IPPN Bursary / Conference Workshop Proposals Invited/Key Dates

IPPN Bursary 2008

This year's Bursary competition has a new dimension whereby we are inviting proposals to focus on one of two predefined topics. These are:

  1. The design and development of a practical administrative software application which would be of benefit to all schools.
  2. The compilation of a comprehensive set of school policies which will meet the needs of all schools.

E-scéal 169: Important information re. Scheme for Commissioning Psychological Assessments

Print Send to a Friend Bookmark The National Educational Psychological Service (NEPS) are currently at an advanced stage in their review of the Scheme for Commissioning Psychological Assessments (SCPA). NEPS has assured IPPN that this review will help to provide a better, more streamlined service to all schools availing of the scheme. It will also contain the proviso that no school will be liable for psychologist's fees over and above those paid by SCPA for the service once the schools quota of assessments is not exceeded.

Summer Holidays

The IPPN Support Office will be closed from July 13th until August 17th. However, if you are in need of urgent advice i.e. something that cannot wait until the end of August, please send information by email to support@ippn.ie. Members of the IPPN Executive have kindly volunteered to respond to urgent enquiries during the holiday period. Please revert to the links at the end of this E-scéal which contain information relating to the to main queries being received by the Support Office. This is the last E-scéal you will receive before schools reopen. We have asked the DES again not issue circulars during the official summer holidays in recognition of a Principal's entitlement to official leave.
